Robert, a Harvard graduate, was diagnosed in 2000 with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis ("ALS") more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. He lost his battle with the disease on March 17, 2004 at the young age of 49.
To alleviate the financial burden of individuals and their families that have been victimized by ALS, including assistance in the educational needs of their children. By providing ongoing financial support for research we hope to win the fight against this dreadful disease.
With the support of the community, the Robert Luongo ALS Fund has not only helped ALS victims and their families, but also make annual contributions to ALS research programs.
